The IPX4 test equipment is often used to simulate the waterproof performance of equipment in a water splash environment, and it can effectively test the performance of electronic products or components in the face of water splash. However, when it is installed in a humid environment, it is still necessary to pay special attention to some environmental conditions and maintenance measures to ensure the stability and test accuracy of the equipment.
Although the IPX4 test equipment is designed to simulate the splash of water droplets, the following points must be taken into account when used in a humid environment:
l Ventilation and drainage: The humidity of the air in a humid environment is high. If there is not a good ventilation and drainage system around, the test chamber may be damaged by moisture accumulation. Ensure that the installation area of the test chamber has sufficient ventilation to avoid water vapor affecting the inside of the equipment.
l Temperature control: Before use, it is necessary to confirm that the operating temperature range and humidity range of the test chamber are suitable for the current environment (usually 5~35℃, humidity ≤85%) to ensure the stable operation of the equipment.
The humid environment may accelerate the corrosion and accumulation of impurities in the equipment, so special attention needs to be paid to the following aspects during use:
l Rust-proof design: Metal parts may rust easily in humid environments. IPX4 test equipment with anti-rust coating or anti-corrosion design can effectively extend its service life and reduce the impact of corrosion on equipment performance.
l Regular maintenance: Moisture, mold, or other contaminants may accumulate inside the test chamber in humid environments. Inspect and clean the equipment regularly to ensure that its internal systems remain clean to avoid affecting test results and the long-term stability of the equipment.
l Avoid excessive moisture: The IPX4 rating is mainly designed to protect against splash and is not suitable for prolonged exposure to high humidity. Ensure that the test chamber is not exposed to excessive moisture or areas with standing water to avoid negative effects of moisture on the internal circuitry and mechanical parts of the equipment.
